Garde-moi Versão Inglesa

It isn't my habit to post text that doesn't belong to me but as a favour to a friend, I am making an exception. This is an incredible song by Mafie Zouker & Anggun, who owns the rights to these lyrics.

'Ora Aqui esta a Letra:

Do you remember when you broke into my heart ?
When I surrendered and let you turn me inside out
We were better then
Nothing could ever burn our dreams
Because our love was bolder than a million thoughts of fear

Chorus
It’s a crime
You have no right to pretend that we still love
And it’s a crime to keep on lying that we are still
in love

Was it the winter?
Didn’t we close and lock our doors?
Was it a failure
To think we were stronger than it all
Suddenly strangers
How could we let it go this far
Lovers no longer
No longer who we are

CHORUS

INSTRUMENTAL BREAK

Lovers no longer we are…
CHORUS

In love...

(There are errors in these lyrics so if anyone can help correct them it'd be appreciated).
Also, while I'm at it I figure I should share the song so those of you who've never heard it can listen ;)

Dear Dumbass (I don't Like You)

I don't like you.
I tried.
I really did.
I just don't like you

You're bubbly and cheery;
And you make for a good laugh;
And hanging out is just a hoot a half.
But I don't like you.

You're strong and self assured
Like your own independent state
And it makes me doubtful
About the stuff I have on my own plate.

So I don't like you.

I'm not a quitter.
In fact, I'm quite the opposite.
I push and pull and tug at things
And bend them until I make them fit.

But with you
I find I can't budge shit;
And I'm forced to throw in the towel
And admit I can't do it.

So I don't like you.
Sam I am
I don't like you.

So pout and cry
and do your do
But know that whatever you pull
This will always be true:
I don't like you.

The Self Sufficient Man

Talk your talk, oh idle man
You walk and live as best you can
You play a part and go along
Like there's no greater plan.

You sit in high seats of government,
Or enthroned at the local bar,
You talk as if you knew it all,
When the truth is,
You are so far.

You say you have no use at all
For king or faith or creed
Yet are swift to cry out Oh God
When you find yourself in need.

Oh man, so proud,
So infinitely wise,
You fail to see the simple truth
Lying right before your eyes.

Do Over

I'm angry
Though I oughtn't to be
When the one who's really at fault here
Is me.

But it's so much easier
To point a finger and cast blame
Than to admit you're in the wrong
And take the walk of shame

You see, I really did know better-
Though I'll never admit that to you-
Your foolish games and amateurish lies
I always did see through.

And now you've left me on the floor,
A broken, empty shell. No more!
When what I wanted all along
Was a love that would be sweet and pure.

I tried to glue the pieces back
With the thrill of slatternly vice
Only to find the aftertaste
Was really not so nice.

I've played the field,
I've messed around,
I've walked the razor's edge.
I've even pushed the boundaries
Of the Father's protective hedge.

But now I stand with sight restored
And dare to face my mess,
Determined that this time,
Come what may,
I will not fail the test.

Night Shift

She walks down the streets
In the dark of night
Brazen head held aloft
Thick make-up layering her face.

You can tell by her swagger
She ain’t just any ordinary girl.
She’s armed and dangerous,
Prey in sight, she’s going for the kill.

So you say you want summa that?
Well she’s fierce
And you gots to be fiercer
If you plan on taming that tiger.

Tough talk
Sharp claws,
Little black dress
Showin’ legs that could snap a neck in two.

Damn straight
She mean business.
Don’t mess around
Boy you need to come betta!

As for you neat little girls,
Livin your neat little lives,
In yo mamma’s perfect little kitchen
Paid for by daddy’s five-figure salary,

Don’t be too quick to judge.
I know you ain’t lookin down
The end o’ yo nose at her.
(Oh no she di’n’t!)

Before you start dealing out
Your ignorant, uninformed sentences
You just might want to listen to her story.

And if you’re really as smart as you say,
You’ll realize on any given day,
The car you drivin’ could easily swerve into her lane
On the thinnest patch of ice.

And if you listen,
You might learn a thing or two
About life,
About love,
About generosity,
About true piety…

…And who knows,
You just might learn a thing or two…

…About your husband!

Failure

Well set objectives
Stolid will
Body and soul
Set, poised to spring

The arrow is unleashed
And flies toward the mark
But errs
Deflected by a slight
Yet unforeseen breeze
Missing the target
By a fraction of a hair's breadth.

Cold.
Disappointed.
Angry.
Afraid.

Avoid the judging eyes.
Lose self in futile wondering.
Sink to knees.
Stop to think
And sort through the befuddlement
Of why a thing so perfect
Could go so wrong.

Fragile and vulnerable.
Seeking to defend the raw interior
Even from those who would alleviate the pain.

Hiding fault.
Seeking to blame.
Unwilling to confront the truth
Of the stark naked reality
Staring me in the face.
Crying sandy tears.
